A Home Extension in Wilmslow

After our first appointment at our customers property over in Wilmslow, we knew this build would be a stunning one and were excited at the prospect of being chosen to complete the work.

We wanted the extension to tie in seamlessly with the existing property and so tweaked our designs until both we and the client were satisfied.

The brief was a space in which the family could sit down together to dine, as well as creating a utility space. The high spec, minimal interior design of the property had to be replicated within the extension.

We used reclaimed bricks to match the existing property, which when sat adjacent to the grey aluminium doors, offered a traditional meets industrial aesthetic.

Within the slate roof, we installed 3 large velux, each 1400mm long, to allow maximum light to enter into the dining area, mirroring the velux in the lounge area next to the extension.

As well as fitting LED spotlights to a roofing pelmet to the front of the roof, we also fit an LED lighting strip into a recess at the back wall of the extension, allowing the client to use lighting to tailor the ambience of the room each day and evening.

In our continued efforts for a seamless link between the main house and extension, we sourced oak skirting boards to complement the existing, had oak flooring joints made to join the two floor surfaces, and installed a stunning internal oak door into the utility part of the extension.

The end result is an extension which allows natural light to flood into the home, whilst feeling like it has always been a part of the property. As our client has commented:

â€'We are extremely happy with our solid roof extension. It has not only made our house beautiful, it has made a substantial improvement in the quality of our living space downstairs.

One of the most impressive features’ of Croston was their success in keeping the extension in line with the existing design of the house.

They had a keen attention to detail and made sure we were satisfied at every step of the construction. They were professional, approachable, always answered our calls and receptive to our suggestions.”

We must say, we are as thrilled with out outcome as they are.

Last week we were sadly informed that Botany Bay Mill will be closing in February 2019, and so all tenants must vacate by then. Although we are of course so disappointed to be losing our showroom in the Garden Centre at Botany Bay, the re-development plans for a stunning new Outlet Village do look impressive, and we hope will bring opportunity to the Chorley area. Check out the artists impressions for the plans at the bottom of the page.

Leafing through the Solidor brochure and photos of our past installations, it’s easy to see why our customers fall in love with these doors.

What our customers' say...

"I started with an old worn out patio needing constant jet washing to keep it looking ok but after Croston had spent a week taking away all the old flags and walls, putting down all the steel foundations and then laying the decking surrounded by a neat white rail and steps down to the garden area the end result was amazing. It is so easy to keep clean ,hard wearing and the difference it has made has to be seen to be believed. "
