How to Host a World Cup Party

So, after Wednesday night’s performance, it’s safe to say we all have football fever. With chants of "Football’s Coming Home" audible around the country, we’re turning our thoughts of where to enjoy next Saturday’s game. For many of us, it’ll be at home with friends, BBQ on the go, and generally making the most out of what a wonderful summer 2018 is shaping up to be.

With that in mind, we’ve rounded up some great ideas for how to enjoy a World Cup party from home.

What’s on the menu?

First things, first: Food. BBQ is the classic option, check out Homebase for a huge range of gas and charcoal BBQs, from budget friendly options to all singing all dancing premium burners.

Also gaining popularity are outdoor pizza ovens. Not only do they deliver the tastiest thin crust pizza’s, they’re also a great way for everyone to get involved and customise with their own toppings. For a great entry level pizza oven, check out Aldi’s release at under a hundred pounds.

The Set Up

Garden Furniture has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years, from plush outdoor corner sofas, to rustic sleeper benches.

For outdoor tables, we absolutely love the selection of fire pit tables on the market, check out the ‘Nevada’ from The Range for a table which has a centre that not only doubles as a fire pit, but also an ice bucket.

Finishing Touches

To pull everything together, choose colourful accessories. Festoon lights create a great party atmosphere, look to Ikea for their Solvinden LED lighting chain.

Football themed paper cups and plates are an obvious choice, with plenty available in supermarkets and party shops, but if you want something a little more durable and chic, shatterproof tableware is a must for the outdoors. Our favourite design comes in the form of the fruity Tropic Thunder set from John Lewis (currently on sale too, yey!)

And to open the celebratory beers at a world cup party, what better than a Foosball bottle opener from See, we’ve thought of everything!

Last week we were sadly informed that Botany Bay Mill will be closing in February 2019, and so all tenants must vacate by then. Although we are of course so disappointed to be losing our showroom in the Garden Centre at Botany Bay, the re-development plans for a stunning new Outlet Village do look impressive, and we hope will bring opportunity to the Chorley area. Check out the artists impressions for the plans at the bottom of the page.

Leafing through the Solidor brochure and photos of our past installations, it’s easy to see why our customers fall in love with these doors.

What our customers' say...

"It has been a real pleasure to work with Croston Conservatories. All of people we have dealt with, from sales through to planning and construction have been excellent. All the workmen involved in the construction process were professional, courteous, hard-working and decent people to deal with. The people back in the office have been just the same. We are absolutely delighted with the end result, it looks a top quality job and we are already making good use of our new “haven”. "
